Matt Groening from the Simpsons had created a stereotypical character named Chief Wiggim, I think it is trite because that is not what all cops do, most of them are not lazy, carless, or stupid. Most of all the character Cheif Wiggim does abunch of stupid stuff with his gun putting himself and the other people around him in danger.
