How Many Songs Can You Name?

So many song, all the same topics, it gets old. Five of the most overused song themes.

1. In Love
How many happy relationships does a person really want to hear about? Personally, I only want to hear about one, and it's mine. Over and over again, love song after love song. Sure, they're sweet, and I suppose it's cute when the artist is with someone when they write the song. Do they think it gives people hope or something? Well, maybe it does for a while, until their "perfect match" leaves them for some other artist making more money, because no one wants to hear how full their heart is with love.

Say it Again- Marie Digby
Crazy in Love- Beyonce
A Moment Like This- Kelly Clarkson
My Heart Will Go On- Celine Dion
All My Life- K-Ci & Jojo

2. Heart Broken
Keeping to the theme of love, what's with all the break up songs? I'm not going to lie, I do listen to them during a break up, but I'm not sure why. It's not like they help or anything, what are they good for anyway? A few here and there would be just fine, but there are just too many, saying the exact same thing. With any artist, there is almost always a break up, or rejection, song. Yeah everyone goes through it, but just listen to someone else's, don't make the rest of us suffer through another emo song gone rap, pop, or R&B.

Un-Break My Heart- Toni Braxton
I Wanna Be With You- Mandy Moore
From the Bottom of my Broken Heart- Britney Spears
You'll Think of Me- Keith Urban
Burn- Usher

3. Boys Suck
Yeah, relationships can be hard and everything, but it's not just the guy. In a lot of instances if the woman wasn't so self concious or controlling the guy wouldn't do some of the things he does. I'm not saying people deserve things like getting cheated on, or that it's not annoying when people are indecisive; just don't try to pin everything on one person. If you bother taking the time to write a song about them, there must be something good, like those songs about how you like them but you don't now! They are just doing the same thing the guy is. The guy makes them happy sometimes and sad other times, maybe they're doing the same to him. Maybe that's why men act like they do. Or perhaps they are just out of it. Give men a break, they can be SO clueless. =)

Hot N' Cold- Katy Perry
Irreplaceable- Beyonce
My Happy Ending- Avril Lavigne
The Potential Break up song- Aly & Aj
Picture to Burn- Taylor Swift

4. Self Destruction
I dislike songs like this very much. If you were actually feeling this, you wouldn't tell anyone, much less write about it in your song. Many artists write songs to connect with their audience, but I don't think this is a good topic to use for that. This encourages self harm to some extent, and mostly the kind for attention. Not to mention, there are way too many songs written about self harm. Boring.

Last Resort- Papa Roach
Self Destruction- Nine Inch nails
I'm Not Ok [I Promise]- My Chemical Romance
Hide Nothing- Further Seems Forever
Animal I've Become- Three Days Grace

Any new ideas?
