Hugh Hefner is definitely deified in popular culture because he lives the american dream from a male gaze. To most men, hes got it all money, mansion and all the bunnies! Only thing about him is that men probably worship him but most women dont like what he does. But everyone has to admit hes a beast because hes old as hell and still pullin hoes at 84 years old! -Np

Also because he gots anything you can dream of and makes pretty much every man want to be him cause he is living the fantasy life. Hugh Hefner is vilified by alot of women because men like what he does and admire it, whereas women look down on it because it 'degrades' women. I think more women these days arent as offended by the playboy bunnies because sex has lost its value. I think people have Hef misunderstood because hes probably just a lonely old man who enjoys younger womens company.-Np
Hef is vilified by mostly woman because they feel like he is exploiting woman with there bodies. Men aren't really much concerened with Playboy because they like to look at them, which may tick off some women like the wives of those men. But you also have to remember that sex does sell and Hef is just trying to do his job. I believe that Hef does have respect for all these women and that he just treats them good, but some women just don't see it that way.-BR
